Craft Idea

What do you do when you're ready to sit down in your crafting area, and you don't have a single craft idea?! Sometimes we want to make something, but we're just not having a creative day. Where can we get a new craft idea to encourage the creative juices to start flowing again?

The internet is the prime target for finding a new craft idea to work with. The abundance of information you can find online is amazing. Sometimes you have to narrow down your search results or rephrase your search in order to get better results, but the craft idea you are looking for is out there some place! You can simply type "craft idea" in the search engine, and go through the results for more ideas than you'll know what to do with! You'll get a huge variety of topics with a generalized search term like "craft idea". If you are looking for a specific kind of craft idea, you'll need to be more specific. For example, if you know you want to work with clay, type "clay craft idea" in the search engine. If you're looking for free patterns to follow for crotcheting or knitting- than that is what you'll want to type in the search engine box.

Another way to come up with a new craft idea is to browse your favorite crafting magazines. You could read the articles for specific instructions on how to make a craft, or have a little more fun with it and just look at the pictures! When you find an item you like, use it as your craft idea and see if you can create something similar just by looking at the photograph!

Sometimes you can come up with a craft idea just by walking through your local craft supply store. Usually, the items you see will spark a craft idea you would like to attempt. The silk flowers might give you an idea to make a fancy, all season wreath to hang on your front door. The baking supplies might give you the idea to make fun shaped cakes for your child's class party. Walking down the aisle of pretty glass containers can spark all sorts of interesting ideas, and many popular craft stores have fliers with a craft idea posted near the item it uses.

The aureate burghal - Prague - Prague, Czech Republic (sandeman pub clamber review, auberge aureate city)

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow video of a travel blog to Prague, Czech Republic by TravelPod blogger Analeesa. See this TripWow and more at tripwow.tripadvisor.com The Golden City - Prague "Hello :). So I am currently on the train on our way to Munich! Our train took off around 9 and we will arrive in Munich at 3 or as the Europeans say 15:00! I cannot wait for Munich! It is supposed to be an amazing city! This weekend in Prague could not have been more wonderful if we tried! I took my 3 tests on Thursday, ran home, packed and we left. We met our friend Christina at the train station where we caught a cab to the airport. We flew out of a different smaller airport so it is more of a hassle to get to. Christina came from Florence and her study abroad program ended this week so she flew back to the states this morning. She had a ton of luggage!! We flew Wizz Air, a cheap Hungarian airline :) it worked out great! We arrived in Prague and took another taxi to our hostel. Our room was huge!! It was nicer than staying at a hotel, which is hardly ever the case! We had our own bathroom, a dining table, fridge, ect! And it was $22 dollars a night for each of us! We got a good nights rest and got up at a decent hour on Friday morning. We ate crepes for breakfast with cinnamon sugar! Then we took a Sandeman's free walking tour! He showed us the main attractions and explained the history behind everything. It was a ton of fun and lasted 3 hrs. Then we went spent the afternoon walking around ...

Craft Boxes Make Great Gift Boxes

Craft boxes are specialized boxes of arts and craft. They have been used all away through history as containers for every item you can think about. From tea caddies to food containers and cigarette boxes storage containers for your home, writing boxes with different containing, craft boxes are of good use for everyone.

Very often, craft boxes are needed to contain presents for some celebration, birthdays, Christmas, wedding etc.

The most important thing when decorating your box is, first of all the quality of the boxes, and secondly, that you take care to make it appropriate for the celebration.

Here are some ideas for decorating your craft boxes when you want to give your loved one a present:

Pick what colors you want. Red and white will work well for Valentines day, black and orange for Halloween, red and green for Christmas, etc. It's your box. You can be as creative or weird as you like. A simple brownish or white paper used for wrapping and a reddish ribbon can be a highly beautiful decoration that looks extremely sophisticated.

Cut out your paper, and arrange it how you want it. It doesn't have to be a solid color. You can cut lots of shapes to overlap. Choose origami paper, wrapping paper, magazine pages or even greeting cards to decorate it. Cut the paper to cover each side of the box or cut out small pictures or shapes to attach to the painted surface of the box.

Just make sure that you don't leave any cardboard showing. Ribbons and bows are good too. If the present is for an adult then a different approach is required.

Add writing to your box. Stencils make awesome pictures, or even add a sweet message. For a natural look get a few leaves and pick one or two of them to draw around them and carefully cut a stencil. Sprinkle some glitter to an adhesive on to give it a cool touch.

Birthdays and celebrations need some colors to individualize the person. For a child, primary and secondary colors are the best choice. You can accessorize boxes to your particular interest, such as drawing, crochet, painting, jewelry making and beading or you can create a general craft box that has a variety of crafting supplies.

You can also use images such as planes, trains, boats, fairies, princesses, castles, dinosaurs or images from their favorite books to decorate the craft boxes.

Keep in mind that you can use have to use good craft boxes to make a good personalization. The craft boxes that you buy also have to be the best quality, in order not to break.

We would all like many special gifts for that special someone. But oh my god, that plain cardboard box is so ugly and boring! Now you can choose to who it some light with your own ideas and decorations. Now your loved one will for sure be amazed by your gift in beautiful craft boxes of the best quality. Why not get the best ones on the market to surprise your beloved? After all, he/she does deserve the best there is...

Preschool Easter Crafts For Kids Are a Great Way to Get Them Active This Easter

Working with preschoolers is great as they are usually very enthusiastic when it comes to making stuff and creating lots of arts and crafts projects within the classroom. They are usually about 3 or 4 years old, which means they have been jaded by the harsh world around them and still have great optimism. They usually want to please and get praise from adults and teachers so they try hard at all that they do.

This enthusiasm extends to preschool Easter crafts for kids in the classroom too. No matter what activity you place in front of them, you can usually bet that they will give it a good go. Anyone that works with children will pretty much tell you the same thing.

This is why Easter is a popular time in the classroom when it comes to being creative with arts and crafts. The good thing about Easter is that there is a ton of things that can be made ranging from Easter baskets to decorating Easter eggs.

Some Cool Easter Craft Ideas for Preschoolers

You are really only limited by your imagination and the tools that you have in your classroom when it comes to devising preschool Easter crafts for kids this year. Of course, you have to make sure that these young ones are supervised if using scissors, and that they have the appropriate safety blades.

You can start your preschoolers off with a simple Easter arts and craft idea that is always popular at this time of year. Take some different colored card, reds, pinks, blues etc. and cut them into long strips. Then using sticky tape of safety glue, instruct your class to weave the card together to create a simple Easter basket shape. You can also bring in some tissue paper to line the bottom of their baskets. Another piece of different colored card can be bent into shape to form an ad hoc handle too.

If your preschoolers have access to computers then they can go online (with some help) and print off some Easter themed pictures like Easter bunnies, Easter Eggs, Easter chicks etc. that can be printed out and used as decoration for their Easter baskets.

An Excuse to Talk Easter

Whilst your little ones are busy crafting their Easter baskets, you can be telling them all about Easter and what it means to you so that they can understand a little of the background of why they are making their baskets.

Who'd have thought that preschool Easter crafts for kids was such a great way to get your pupils actively participating in a great activity that promotes group work and good communication skills.

Cute Easter Egg Hunt Ideas

Easter is a joyous celebration of life over death. Although it is mainly a Christian holiday, Easter is celebrated in many countries worldwide.

For Christians, the most important day of this holiday season is Easter Sunday. On this special day, Christians celebrate Christ's resurrection.

Nowadays, Easter is not just about religion. It's a fun holiday that kids and adults alike can enjoy.

A cute and fun festive activity that is held during Easter, is the Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Egg Hunt is a game where various eggs (real hard boiled eggs or artificial ones) are hidden. Kids will have to find them to get their prize.

Prizes are usually given to the kid who found the biggest number of eggs, or to that child who managed to find the smallest egg! You can also paint the eggs or wrap them in various colors. Some of the prizes that you can give will be for those kids who find the most pink colored eggs for example.

Some cute ideas include:

- Putting secret notes in the eggs. The notes will have messages such as "Give Uncle John a big hug!" or "You can have one piece of candy from Mark's basket".

- Writing the kids' names on the eggs. The kid who finds his or her egg first, wins!

- Make it more elaborate by providing checklists to each kid. Whoever finds all the eggs in the checklist first, wins. For example, you can tell them to find three purple eggs, two pink eggs and one orange egg.

- Daylight egg hunt too easy? Get creative and organize a night time egg hunt!

- Some parents hand over the Easter Egg Hunt to their kids. So in this case, the children are the ones who get to hide the eggs and the adults will have to find them.

- Why not make the kids hop around to find their eggs? Guaranteed to add tons of fun and giggles to your Easter party.

One craft that all kids will love are the cotton ball chick crafts. Glue the google eyes so they are above the beak and then glue the doll base to the egg shell.

A second craft kids will enjoy is the bunny rabbit ears. You will need to have a strip of paper that will fit around the child's head and tape it together. Tips For Entertaining at Home

When entertaining at home there are a few things that go into planning. There is no need to host a grand shindig anytime you want to have friends or family over; but people will notice when you make certain special preparations on their behalf. Here are some tips to help your home entertaining go as smoothly as possible, without causing you a lot of work and stress.

For most people, the first thoughts about entertaining go towards the kitchen. There is really no problem with planning your menu first, as long as you give yourself some time later to think about how your home will look when guests arrive. But we'll talk about that later. For now, let's go into the kitchen.

To make your dinner planning easy, browse through easy recipes that you can make in your crock pot. If you find that you may need more than one, borrow from a friend or family member. There are plenty of quick and easy recipes for chicken that will wow your guests into thinking you slaved over this luscious meal. Using a crock pot, you could load in boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut potatoes and carrots. On top of these items, pour in either home made gravy, or store bought chicken gravy and then cook for an hour or so. You'll know the chicken is done when it is no longer pink in the middle. Making this sort of meal, you can set it and forget it and go about preparing your house for your special guests.

After dinner, you will undoubtedly serve coffee, as is done at most home events. However, what about the person who doesn't like coffee? You want to be sure to have something for everyone. So, look into a Keurig brewer to make your home entertaining easier. Keurig brewers come in a few different sizes in order to meet the needs of different people. Some people really like their standard 8 ounce cup of coffee, while others prefer a larger cup. Keurig brewers are available to accommodate these different needs.

Why are Keurig brewers special? For one simple reason, they brew single cups of coffee, tea, or even cocoa. That means that when you have a Keurig in your home, your entertaining is that much easier. These brewers work with pre-measured cups of coffee, tea, or cocoa. So all you will have to do is arm your pantry with different flavors of these things and set them out in a nice bowl during your home parties. By offering something for the myriad of taste buds that will roam your kitchen looking for an after-dinner drink, you will win the accolades of your guests.

Table settings for home parties can be simple or elaborate. Depending on the time of year, you may find flowers more easy to come by, or more difficult. Think of flowers that stand out for your table settings, but not types that are overly fragrant, for this clashes with the aroma of your food. For a great spring time table setting that doesn't look like it's straight out of Easter dinner, get a few faux birds nests from the local craft store and fill them with jellybeans or individually wrapped chocolates for a posh and playful table treat.

Your decorating for home parties doesn't have to be elaborate or outlandish. You don't have to create a theme for every party. All you need to do is provide a comfortable place where your friends and family can sit back, relax and enjoy one another's company.

No Sew or Easy Sew Decorating Ideas

For those of you who don't have a lot of time to worry about sewing pillows, curtains and other fabric decorations, there are plenty of no sew projects or projects that require minimal sewing. Even for the beginning sewer, the projects just require you to be able to sew in a strait line with no fancy sewing stitches or techniques.

One of the easiest chair covers, pillows and curtain toppers that you can make involves using cloth napkins. You can find cloth napkins in a variety of colors, patterns and sizes. You can use cloth napkins to cover seat cushions or to throw over the top of a curtain rod to make a curtain topper. If you sew two cloth napkins with their right sides together, you can then turn them right sides out and stuff them to make instant pillows. You can often find cloth table clothes that match napkins and you can use them to cover an ottoman or sew two together to make curtains. Using cloth napkins and table clothes that already have finished edges gives them a professional look for just a little bit of money.

If you are going for a more casual curtain look, you can buy sheets for decorating. Whether you choose chambray sheets or white sheets, once they are hanging on the curtain rod nobody will ever know that they are sheets. All you have to do is hem them to the correct length, which can be done by sewing or by using fusible tape and an iron. Depending on the window size, you may have to cut the sheets in half in order to avoid having a bulky fabric look. If you cut them in half you will need to fold in the cut edges to form a smooth edge which can be accomplished by sewing them or using fusible tape. A sheet can also be used to cover an old sofa and will look similar to a shabby chic sofa cover.

If you have left over fabric from any of your projects there are a number of easy projects that you can do to use this fabric and help tie things in your room together. You can cover a lamp shade with fabric by using shades that you can buy at a local craft store that are specially designed for fabric. Thin strips of fabric can be used to tie curtains back. A long piece of fabric or sheet can be used for a table runner.

In addition to these no sew or easy sew decorating projects you can find hundreds of ideas on the internet for other projects. You are only limited by your imagination not by your inability to sew. Making your house into a home by adding personal touches couldn't be any easier with all these simple project ideas.

Bible Lesson - Give These a Shot During Your Next Children's Liturgy

Bible lessons are certainly the main ingredient to a successful children's liturgy class. However, if you only stick to teaching various lessons, your students may become bored and uninterested over time. To help get your kids excited about learning about the Bible, incorporate various church crafts and brainstorm other fun Sunday school ideas that can coincide with your Bible lesson plan.

Basket of Blessings Sunday School Idea

For this church craft, you'll need the following for each student:

*Green and brown construction paper
*Brown paper lunch bag

The brown paper lunch bag will represent the basket in this activity. Before your children's liturgy class starts, cut out four fish shapes from the green construction paper and ten loaves of bread from the brown construction paper for each child. Put two paper fish and four loaves of bread into a bag for each of your students. Fold the top of the bag down so that the bag's contents can't be seen.

When class starts, hand out two fish and five loaves of bread to each child. Tell them to place their paper fish and bread into their bags with their eyes closed. Now ask for a volunteer to say a blessing over the meal. Explain to your class that this is the same meal that Jesus used to feed five thousand people in the Bible lesson you've covered. Now ask your class to take the paper meals out of their bags. They'll see that their lunch has doubled, just like in the story! This Sunday school idea is perfect to coincide with the Bible lesson from Matthew 14:15-21.

Basket of Sacrifices Church Craft

You'll need the following for this Sunday school idea:

*Scissors
*Construction paper
*Glue
*Stickers
*Crayons
*One piece of poster board

Cut the poster board into a big basket shape. Have your children's liturgy class help you cut the construction paper into strips and glue them onto the poster basket in a basket weave, criss-cross pattern. Now have your students rip pieces of green construction paper to represent grass; have them glue the grass at the top of the basket. Now let your kids go crazy decorating the poster board basket with glitter and crayons.

For the next several classes, when a student does a particularly good deed, allow him or her to cut out a construction paper egg and decorate it and then glue it to the basket. This is great to coincide with Easter Bible lessons.

Once dried, let them draw the chicks beak and eyes using an orange and blue colored marker. Now let the children draw orange x or crosses as the chicks feet at the bottom of the fingerprint. Now let them draw a sun, flowers on their paper and remember to add their names.

Easter Chick Crafts 2 - Easter Chick Paper Plate Craft

Materials:
Plain white paper plate
Orange paper
Two googly eyes
Paint- yellow
Feathers - yellow
Glue

Directions:
Paint both sides of the paper plate in yellow paint. Allow time to dry. Once completely dry, you need to fold the paper plate in half. Place the paper plate on its curved side.

Using the googly eyes, paste one on each side of the folded plate. Now draw and cut out a triangle on the orange paper. Glue the triangle across the fold of the paper plate, just above the eyes. This is the chicks beak. Place a blob of glue and stick the feathers on either side of the body. Preferably in the middle of the paper plate.

Easter Chick Crafts 3 - Yellow Foot Chick

Materials:
Paint- yellow
White paper A4
Fibre-tip pens / orange markers
warm soapy water
Newspaper

Directions:
Place the ready mixed yellow paint inside a wise dish, with sides. This dish needs to be big enough for a child's foot. Lay down newspaper under the yellow paint dish as well as the white A4 paper.

The children need to be barefoot. Each child is to place one of their feet into the yellow paint and step directly onto the white paper. Tip: Have the paint, paper and tub of warm soapy water in a line, one after the other. This helps minimize the mess.

Once the child has left a yellow footprint on the paper, have them step into the soapy water and wash the paint off their foot. Dry. Once the paint is dry, turn the paper around until the heel faces to the top, this will be the chicks head.

Using fibre-tip pens / markers add eyes and a beak to the chick. The kids can embellish their work by adding grass, a sun, clouds etc. Do not forget their name.

7 Tips For Spring Wedding Centerpieces

If you are getting married in the spring, you are taking advantage of one of the most beautiful times of year. All of your surroundings don't have to be just naturally beautiful, and; in accordance with the spring season, there are many different centerpieces that you can use to enhance and decorate the occasion.

A wedding centerpiece adds an element of harmony to a wedding as well as providing an important focal point to the festivities. Take some time to really think about what kind of theme you want for your wedding and make sure that you have some time to really work it out. A well-designed centerpiece, whether you put it together yourself or discuss your ideas with your wedding planner who then creates it, can bring together the whole event as well as give you a wonderful souvenir. Take a look below for some great ideas to get you started

Traditional Flowers

Just because they're traditional doesn't make them boring! Add a breath of spring to your wedding by adding fresh spring flowers to the centerpiece. Consider tulips, hyacinths and crocuses, some very lovely, very traditional spring flowers remarkable for their color.

Eggs

With Easter right around the corner, you can decorate your wedding's centerpiece with lovely colored eggs. If you want something a little more sophisticated than the dye kits you get at the drug store, consider finding a specialist who can make you vibrant, traditionally dyed eggs in every hue and vibrancy you can think of.

Crystal

Spring is a time of quick, silver showers so bring this cool sparkling atmosphere to mind with the use of crystal. One way to do this is to get some quartz or aquarium pebbles that are clear or slightly tinted from the craft store and scatter them around the table. This adds a lovely sparkle to the surroundings.

Buds

Just like flowers, budding trees branches are a wonderful sign of the earth waking up again. Find a place that will give you fresh blooming pussy willows or budding dogwood for a less standard, still charming touch to your wedding.

Fruit Blossoms

Have you ever noticed how good apple and orange blossoms smell? If you live in the right area, you can strew these blossoms everywhere. They have a lovely aroma and depending on the species, can add a vibrant streak of color to your wedding.

Candles

When you put together candles for a spring wedding, you're often told to keep things pale, but there's no reason they can't be vibrant as well! When you are looking for candles, white is traditional, but take a look around for other hues that please you as well. Consider a light pink, or, if that seems a little too feminine, a lovely pale green.

Water

There are lots of ways to incorporate water into your centerpiece, but one great way is through crystal bowls with floating candles on top. You can also put floating plants inside or in the case of some adventurous wedding planners, colorful fish, though you should always look forward to those fish needing homes afterwards.

Simple Face Painting Ideas For Beginners

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Painting faces is fun, exciting and watching the kids admire their designs is very cute. However you may see the faces painted at Walt Disney or the work of someone else who has been doing it for years and think, I could never do that! And, "if my designs aren't so elaborate nobody will want them." Well, you're wrong, you don't have to go all out to do beautiful and kid friendly face painting.

You can start with simple designs and you'll still be the life of the party. One great way to do smaller kids that won't sit still is to use stamps to get the basic design on and then take your brush and fill in the accents. Check your local craft store or Wal*Mart for stamps. Snazarro also has stamps available for those that need something to work off of.

If you're able to do small check designs free hand, paint some on cardboard stock paper and take it along and have the kids pick one of those. Having some of this around is handy also for practicing or trying out a new idea you just came up with.

Supplies

You can keep these simple as well. Snazarro sells an 8 color rainbow kit that has all the basic colors you'll need. If you want to add some jazz they have an 8 color sparkle set as well. If you're only going to do cheek designs you won't need a sponge, but you will need several different sizes of brushes. It's a good idea to have several of the same size so you can paint for a little bit, then clean your brushes.

Easter Crafts - Easy Instructions to Make This Decorative Vase For Your Table Setting

Try your hand at a quick and colorful Easter centerpiece decoration for your table setting. Like most of us, we probably have at least two, maybe three glass vases that could easily be turned in to something really beautiful and unique without breaking the bank.

For this Easter craft project you will need the following supplies:

Glass vase; We chose to use a tall clear one, with no design on it.
Easter paper grass; We chose bright green, but any coordinating Easter color also works.
1 large Easter egg; We chose a pink ceramic egg
5 medium Easter eggs; We chose artificial eggs in pink, blue & crème in a multi colored spotted finish.
3 small Easter eggs; We chose artificial white eggs
1 decorative craft bird; We chose one in pink, blue and yellow to complement the colors of the eggs.
Double sided sticker square

Step 1 - Begin by creating egg shaped forms of the Easter paper grass in your hand.  For this project we made six, but it will vary depending on the width and height of your vase.  Next, take your Easter paper grass forms that you have made and drop them in to the vase one at a time.  This will build height to your project; at least one quarter of the vase should now be full.
Step 2 - Begin layering your artificial eggs, medium then small.  Repeat the process.
Step 3 - Place your large ceramic egg on top of the artificial eggs.  At this point your vase should be half full. You are now ready to do your final step.
Step 4 - Take your double sided sticker square and apply it to the bottom of your decorative craft bird and press firmly.  Next, carefully place your craft bird in to the vase, resting it side ways on to the large ceramic egg with the feathers facing down (for photos see below).  When you have completed your project, at least one eighth of the glass vase should be empty at the top of your vase.
You now have a beautiful custom and unique Easter decoration for your table top that your guests are sure to ooh and ah at.  Another idea would be to pair your vase with another one facing the other end of your table setting.  If you choose to add a second vase, just remember to double your supplies listed above.

A Traditional Easter

It seems to be a trend these days that everything old becomes new again. With that in mind let's bring back some age-old traditions this Easter.

Did you know that decorating Eggs dates back thousands of years? There are different legends about how the plain white shells miraculously changed into beautiful colors. I really like the idea of this and I for one will be enjoying some egg craft with my daughter this Easter.

It's so simple! All you have to do is hard boil some eggs and dip them in food dye. Decorate them with crayon first; the wax will resist the dye so you will end up with an array of colors shining through. For another nice effect place different shaped stickers on the eggs, dip them in the dye and when they dry peel the stickers off. It's looks great and is so much fun.

Now you're in for a real treat. I am about to give you a recipe that dates back to 1930 when my Grandad was an apprentice at a bakers; he later owned his own bakery. I remember waiting with anticipation for Grandad to walk through the door with our Easter Buns. They were and are without doubt the best Easter Buns I have ever tasted and I am really excited about continuing this tradition with my family for years to come. I hope you enjoy making them but even more than that, eating them!

Hot Cross Buns:

Combine in a large mixing bowl: 1 cup of scalded milk, 1/2 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of sugar & 1 teaspoon of salt. Cool to lukewarm.

Mix 1 teaspoon of sugar with 2 tablespoons of lukewarm water & sprinkle in a 1/2 packet of compressed yeast or 3/4 oz of dried yeast. Let it stand for 5-10 minutes until dissolved, then stir it up & add it to the first mixture. Add also 1 beaten egg, 3/4 cup of sultanas, 1 teaspoon od cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of allspice & 3 1/2-4 cups of flour.

Stir well to make a nice soft dough. Put it in a clean greased bowl, brush over with melted fat, cover with a tea towel and let rise in a warm place until double the bulk. Then turn onto a lightly floured board, knead for 1 minute and shape into little 2 inch or 2 oz balls, arranging them side-by-side on a greased oven-tray. Snip a deep cross in each bun with greased scissors.

Cover with a cloth and let rise again until double the bulk. Bake in a hot oven (220c) for approximately 25 minutes. When buns are cooked brush on glaze made of: 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of water brought to the boil. Makes approximately 16.

Mean Bunny - Easter Prank @ Success U

successuniversity.nodrivetime.com Don't get caught off guard... attend Success University and be prepared for anything. The future is yours... James of Varna Thanks to the original poster... HOW THIS PRANK WORKED This was a one shot prank and it was planned at the very last minute so we could have this video up by easter, but here's how we did it. Earlier in the day (Saturday), I told Marina (the victim), that I wanted her to do a promo for my "new Easter video" and all she had to do was say "If you think Cory's cat is cute, wait until you see his bunny!", then go outside, get my bunny and come back inside to show it to the cameras. She's a good friend of mine and she loves my videos, so I knew she'd agree to it. HOW WE GOT EASTER BEAST OUTSIDE: Before Marina came over, me and a bunch of my friends set everything up. First, we had one guy (Grimel) dress up as Easter Beast, then had another guy guide him around (because you can't see very well through the mask). Jake (the guide) had a blue-tooth ear piece on and was able to hear everything I was saying from the storage room (which was where they were hiding on the patio when Marina went out there). When I said the words "Alright, lets do this.", it was the code for Grimel and Jake to set up the scare pose by the glass door. While they were setting up, I was letting Marina practice her lines in order to spare some time. Once their pose was set, Jake told me "all good" through the ear piece and I had Marina do her lines. UFO Year in Review 12-15

Date: 12-27-09 Host: George Knapp Guests: Alejandro Rojas, Antonio Huneeus, Mark Easter, Chuck Reever George Knapp reviewed some of the top UFO stories of 2009 with Alejandro Rojas & Antonio Huneeus of Open Minds TV in the first two hours, and Mark Easter and Chuck Reever, affiliated with MUFON, in the second half of the show. Rojas talked about some remarkable recent sightings in Argentina, in which a cigar-shaped object was seen by multiple witnesses hovering over several small towns, near turbines and power stations, and was associated with blackouts. At one location, five power poles were burned down on the top in the same pattern, something that would not be seen in the case of a lightning strike, Huneeus detailed. Further material on the Argentina incidents can be found in Huneeus' report. Another noteworthy case was the sighting of a black triangle in September 2009 in North Carolina, which MUFON investigated. A witness shined a light at the craft, and it tilted a beam back at him. Though he dodged the beam, it left burn marks on him. Later the witness had visits from Men in Black (MIBs), Rojas said. More on this case here. In general, 2009 was a bit of a down year for major UFO events, though media coverage remained strong, Rojas commented. Easter spoke about several cases of solid orange globes seen near mines in Nevada. Witnesses described the globes appearing, vanishing, and then reappearing in different spots (see related article below for a video testimony ...

Weekend Craft Projects For Kids

Now that the weekend is here, the kids need something to do.  So, why not create your own weekend camp for your kids?  The best part of camp is doing great craft projects that get the imagination going.  Therefore, step number one in starting your own weekend camp is to set up projects that they can do on their own or with just a little bit of supervision from you.  Here are some crafty projects that you can set up quickly and easily.

One project is to fill empty bottles with coloured sand.  All you need is an empty bottle (with lid), sand (from either the beach or the store), coloured chalk, wax paper and a funnel.  Start by putting a small bit of sand on the wax paper.  Then roll the chalk in the sand until the sand changes colour.  Next, use the funnel to fill the bottle with the coloured sand.  Finally, repeat these steps using different coloured chalk until the bottle is completely filled.  Put the lid on the bottle.  If you like, you can create a label for the bottle putting the year or the name of the beach the sand came from.

Another project is to make your own pinwheels.  Start by cutting out 4 squares from construction paper.  On each square, cut a line from each corner to almost the middle of the square.  Then take one corner and fold it over to the center.  Glue the corner to the center.  Repeat this process of folding each corner to the center and gluing it in place.  Hold the paper together until the glue has dried.  Then use a stick pin to attach the center of the pinwheel to the eraser part of a pencil.  Give the pinwheel a gentle tug to see if it will spin easily.  Once you are happy with the way the pinwheel spins, then use stickers or glitter glue to decorate the pinwheel.  Finally, take it outside and let the wind spin the pinwheel around and around.

A third project kids can make is to decorate their very own hat.  This way they'll want to wear their hat more and that will help protect them from the sun.  Buy a variety of craft jewels and fabric paint and let your child decorate the hat anyway that they want.  Tip:  If you buy jewels, you can attach them to the hat with permanent fabric glue.  Don't use white craft glue or a hot glue gun, as this will not stick to the fabric.

A fourth project you can do is to have the kids make their own clay beads for necklaces and bracelets.  Simply take some no-bake modeling clay (choose a variety of colours) and take a few pinches from two colours or more.  Roll the clay together until it forms a small ball - either round or oval.  If you are using more than one colour, you'll end up with a marble effect with all the colours mixed together.  Once you have rolled the clay into a small ball, then stick the ball on a wooden skewer.  Remember to keep the balls from touching one another and let the clay balls dry for 3-4 hours.  Once they are dry, take them off the skewers and they're ready to make them into necklaces and bracelets.

Another project idea for kids is to create their own pet rocks or pet seashells.  Start by gathering some rocks and seashells from the beach.  Then put some newspaper on the table and put out a variety of supplies like paint, rolly eyes, miniature doll clothes, beads or anything else you want.  Then let your kids go wild and create their own pets by gluing them together, painting them and gluing on eyes or whatever else they want.  They're cute and a great way to keep the kids busy.

How to Make a Winter Crafts Snow Globe

Snow globes are great for any occasion or holiday, simply by changing what you use to create your scene. Just let your imagination run wild!

For example, make a harvest scene for Thanksgiving, a ghostly haunted house for Halloween, a red Valentine heart or colorful Easter/Spring display for the holiday of your choice.

Other themes could include a special birthday or event, sports team, favorite cartoon character or superhero, seashell or Victorian motif, to name just a few.

Once you have an event or theme in mind, it's easy to gather together the elements for a really unique custom made creation.

WINTER CRAFTS SNOW GLOBE

Materials:

Clear Glass Jar with a tight lid (pickle, pimento, jelly, baby food)

Small Waterproof Ornaments, Figures or Decorations

Distilled Water or Water that has been boiled and cooled

Clear Silicone Sealant (Aquarium Sealant) or Florist Clay

Egg Shells or Foil Confetti

Glitter

Glycerin or Mineral Oil

Optional: Plastic Lid to fit inside the jar's lid,
Circle of Fabric, Ribbon or Lace

1. Choose a Clean Dry Glass Jar - A baby food jar is perfect for a small kids craft, pimento jars have a unique ball shape, and pickle jars are large enough to allow you to add several elements to your scene. Just fit your jar to your desired final effect. Remove any labels and food residue.

2. Plan your Snow Globe Scene - Search your sewing kit and home craft supplies for materials and inspiration. You can make people, animals, trees - you name it - from craft foam. Sewing findings are a great source of small decorations too. Also consider miniatures at the craft or hobby store. Remember to shop the day after a holiday for lots of discounted items!

3. Secure the Figures and Decorations inside the jar lid with silicone sealant or florist clay. In order to elevate the scene so it is in clear view, glue a plastic lid inside the jar lid or build up the area with a little extra florist clay. Be sure to leave the edges clear so you have room to screw on the lid. Set aside to dry.

4. Prepare Your "Snow" using the shell from a hardboiled egg. Separate the shell from the membrane, place in a sturdy ziploc bag, and crush with a rolling pin. Finer particles will fall more slowly in the snow globe and have a more pleasing effect. However, avoid crushing eggshell into a powder as it will simply float in the water instead of falling gently.

Depending upon your theme, you can change your "snow" to go along with it. Try themed confetti available at craft stores to add an interesting element to your creation. If you're doing a Halloween or Thanksgiving scene, look for foil leaf confetti in fall colors. For Easter you can use foil flower confetti. For a sports theme, use glitter in your favorite team's colors.

The possibilities are endless and ensure that you are creating a one-of-a-kind snow globe!

5. Fill the Snow Globe - When you are pleased with your snow globe scene, fill the jar with distilled water, leaving a little space at the top to accommodate the figures. Add several drops of glycerin to keep the snow suspended and floating properly. Mineral oil or baby oil can also be used in place of the water and glycerin.

6. Add Snow and Glitter - When adding eggshells, make sure you have enough to cover the lid once it has settled to the bottom. Use silver glitter along with the egg shells to make shimmery snow - use one teaspoon of glitter for every inch of water. If you're adventurous, experiment with different effects. Use a drop or two of colored lamp oil to create a swirling effect. Add food coloring to the water or use different colored glitters.

Close the jar tightly and shake your snow globe. Observe how the snow falls and the overall look. Tweak till you get the desired effect by adding a little more snow, glitter or confetti.

7. Seal the Dome - When you're sure the figures and scenery are arranged to your satisfaction, and the snow to water ratio looks good, add a bead of silicone sealant around the threads of the lid and close tightly.

8. Add Final Touches - For a more decorative and finished look, cut a circle of pretty fabric a little larger than the jar lid. Secure to the lid with an elastic band. Hot glue a piece of ribbon or lace over the elastic band.

You'll be proud to display and enjoy your original
winter crafts snow globe creation.

Tips on Making Ribbon Hair Bows

It's very easy to make lovely hair bows. You can create any type of bow that you want which in any pattern or color. They can easy or may be difficult/complicated as you want. Hair bows make a nice addition to, even simple, ponytails. Here's how to make them:

You will need:

-    Ribbon (see below for amounts)
-    Velcro fastening or hair clip
-    Hot glue gun and glue sticks
-    Floral wire or any other thin wire
-    Fray check

Cut the ribbon. To make a baby bow, you need one foot of one inch wide ribbon. Use wider ribbon if you are making a bow for an older child or for an adult. A large bow of 5 inches wide can be made with 30 inches of ribbon while a 3 inch wide bow can be constructed with just 18 inches of ribbon.

Next, fasten the bow. Make a bow same you would when fastening a shoestring. For a more full appearance, attach several bows to one clip.

Now you need to get the bow ready for the clip. To begin, neatly trim the ribbon's ends. Make even the loops of the bow to matching size. Clip the ends of the ribbon. There are many ways to cut them:  straight, crinkly, zig zag or in a V-shape. Apply the fray check to prevent fraying at the ends of the ribbon. It is time to warm up your hot glue gun.

Take care not to burn yourself when using a hot glue gun; it has that name for a reason. Fasten a bow along the clip. Attach your bow, with a hot glue gun, to a small section of Velcro to create a baby size bow. You can paste the bow onto a difference of clips or barrettes procurable at most discount stores. When you're using a glue gun, take care not to touch the tip, since the metal gets hot and will burn your hand. Additionally, avoid using to much glue which will spill over the edges of the Velco or hair clip. Another thing you can do is to stitch a hair bow on top of an elastic tie, so that you can use the bow at the end of the braid.

If you would like to make a fancier bow, tie it with ribbon in two different colors or thread the ribbon through lace for a bow for something like a party dress. You could purchase many lengths of ribbon to match the size you've chosen. Bows can be made in any color, or pattern, to complement an outfit.

Homemade Greeting Cards - Inexpensive Embellishments

Embellishments can add a welcomed dimension to handmade greeting cards. At the craft supply store, there are a lot of pre-made embellishments for sale that can really become expensive over time. Thankfully there are a lot of inexpensive embellishments that you can find around your home or even at the dollar store or discount bin at your local craft store. Embellishments are meant to be fun decorative additions to your cards, so do not feel bad if your cards are free of embellishments, for the most part, the fact that you made the card yourself will be much more important than whether you have embellishments or not.

* Buttons
Using buttons is a great way to dress up handmade greeting cards because they are relatively inexpensive and can add a lot of dimension and fun to a regular handmade card. Buttons that match the colors of the card can be used to highlight text written on the front of the card or create a border of a particular element of the card. Buttons can often be purchased in bulk at the craft store and so many buttons can be used for a multitude of cards. For instance, a small collection of pastel colored buttons could be used for handmade new baby cards, Easter greeting cards, and Mother's Day homemade cards.

* Ribbon
Ribbon is a beautiful embellishment to add to homemade cards. Ribbon can be used as a border to certain elements of the card or ribbon can be used to add a bow or other special addition to a card. Ribbon is a great embellishment to have on hand because it is inexpensive and also you can use the ribbon for other crafting projects, such as scrapbooking, or even for wrapping small gifts for loved ones. Ribbon comes in a wide range of colors and patterns, but if you are just starting out, then you may consider only purchasing ribbon that will be versatile throughout all of your crafting ideas. Basic colored ribbon, like black, white, or red, can be used for a lot of different card designs, while polka dots may not be so flexible. So consider what type of crafting style you have before purchasing any ribbon for card making.

* Silk Flowers
Silk flowers can be purchased at craft supply stores and inexpensively at dollar stores. Silk flowers can be used for a great variety of different occasions, such as Mother's Day, wedding congratulations cards, or even thank you cards. The advantage of having silk flowers is that there are many bulbs when purchasing silk flowers, so that one bunch of flowers can be used for a lot of different homemade cards.

* Fabric
Fabric can add a wonderful degree to texture to a handmade card. Light fabrics, like silk and lace, can be a delicate and lovely addition to a handmade card. Some card crafters use patterned fabrics instead of patterned paper to add that extra layer of creativity. Fabric can be purchased in bulk or in the discount bin at craft stores. Some fabrics, such as solids or those with muted patterns, can be used for a lot of different types of handmade greeting cards.

Easter Bunny Keepsake Box, for Boys and Girls

Most little girls have sweet little earrings, bracelets and assorted trinkets. What they need is a box to store them in. With Mom's, Dad's or big sister's help, here's a cute bunny box to hold those treasures.

Little boys will have fun making these keepsake boxes too - and probably think of other animal faces to create.

What You'll Need:

1- 3" x 4"round craft box, these can be found at craft or discount stores.

1 - piece while felt ( for ears)

1- piece pink felt (for ears)

2- 1" white pompoms (for nose)

1- ½" pink pompom (for nose)

1- ard nylon fishing line ( for the whiskers)

2- ¼ black buttons (for eyes)

1- small bottle of white craft paint

1- small bottle pink craft paint

1- bottle of craft glue

Directions:

1. Paint the outside of the craft box top and bottom white - let dry

2. From the white felt cut two ears. They should be about 2" x 5" inches in length and diameter. The will look like a long leaf.

3. From the pink felt cut two smaller ears (for the insides of the bunny's ears). These should be about 1 ½" x 4" in length and diameter. These will also look like a long leaf. Next, glue the pink ears on top of the white ears. Let dry.

4. Cut two holes into the center of the top of the box, about 1" inch across, to poke the ears into. Push ears into holes. Then dab glue around the openings to secure ears to the top of box - let dry.

5. Glue the two white pompoms on lower half of the side of the box - for the nose. On top of the two white pompoms glue the pink pompom.

6. From the yard of nylon fishing line cut six 2" inch pieces. Dab pieces with glue. Then tuck three pieces behind the left side of the nose, then three pieces on the right side of the nose, for the whiskers.

7. Glue the two black buttons above the nose for the eyes. Lasly, paint two pink circles beside the bunny's nose, for rosy cheeks.

Change the color of the box, the shape of the ears and the colors of pompoms, and this bunny face can easily be changed to make a dog or cat face. Be creative!

The Easter egg is a great example of a tradition that began before many thousands of years. For ancient community, the honor of novel life was an egg. When a shell was broken, a fresh life came into the world. Some myths express that the world itself originated as a huge egg. The world-egg breaks into two halves. The upper half turned into the heavens and the lower half turned into the earth. For millions of years, it has been the tradition to present eggs as gifts at the time of the spring festival.
