For those of you looking forward to Easter time, the one thing that makes Easter incredibly special are decorated Easter cookies. Just like Christmas cookies have become a staple of Christmas time, so have Easter cookies become a part of Easter tradition. There are many great ways to adorn the Easter season and decorated Easter cookies are just one of them. Here are some tips on putting smiles on the faces of your children or friends this Easter season.
Decorated Easter Cookies Come in Many Shapes and Sizes
Decorated Easter cookies can come in many shapes and sizes and if you can conceptualize it you can truly prepare it. For most people Easter is associated with bunnies, rabbits, chicks, lambs and Easter eggs. For the most part you can usually find most of these shapes and more in the form of cookie cutters.
Cookie cutters are usually easy to purchase at all discount shops, supermarkets, and craft shops. Or you can generally make them yourself- you just need some pliable metal and an idea. If you don't have a cookie cutter, no big deal. In fact a lot of people that are artistically gifted choose to cut their own shapes out of cookie dough by hand, without using any cookie cutter.
Decorated Easter Cookies Start Out with Delectable Cookie Dough
The most essential thing about the embellished Easter cookies that you create is that must taste just as great as they look. No one likes a nasty tasting cookie. For many chefs, a great cookie begins with delicious cookie dough. Yes, you can purchase the dough already pre-made and ready to cut, but for the purists out there, start with a family recipe that is either chocolate chip or of the sugar cookie variety.
Decorate Your Cookie Using the Tools of the Trade
It's easy to adorn your Easter cookies, just make sure you have all the accessories of the trade. They usually include, food coloring, colored icing, sprinkles, delicious candies such as licorice, M& M's, nuts, marshmallows, etc. Once you have gotten the cookie shape, let yourself or your kids use their creative magic to make cutely decorated Easter cookies. You can find food coloring and many cool decorating accessories at your local grocery store. You can even purchase pre-made Easter embellishments to add to your cookies, cakes or Easter eggs.
Presentation is Key
Once your newly designed Easter cookies are finished, make sure to show them off to the rest of the family and even give them away to your coworkers and friends. Savor the Easter spirit by showcasing your delicious and beautiful decorated Easter cookies.
One creative idea is to take some photographs of your adorned Easter cookies and include them in your annual Easter scrapbook, so you can always look back at the delicious and beautifully adorned Easter cookies that you have made.
You can also print the cookie recipe on an attractive recipe card and include a photo of your Easter cookies to give to family and friends. Most everyone appreciates handmade gifts, especially when it's a beloved family recipe.
If you are looking to magnify your gratification of Easter this year, take part in creating wonderfully decorated Easter cookies.

Easter crafts can be fun at home or in the classroom. Craft ideas for Easter can come from household items, and many require minimal preparation.
Brown Bag Bunny. Fill a small paper bag with crumpled newspaper. Wrap another bag over the filled bag in order to cover the open end. Tie ribbon or yarn in a bow a third of the way up the bags, forming the bunny's head. Cut two sets of feet and one set of ears out of cardboard. Glue the feet and ears to the bag and decorate the face. Craft ideas for Easter could include putting candy or other treats inside the bag before adding newspaper.
Terra-Cotta Pot Bunny. Paint two small terra-cotta pots while. Glue the pots together open end to open end. Glue a piece of ribbon or string in the middle. Cut ears out of pink felt and glue to the top of the pot. Glue eyes and a puff ball nose to the top pot.
Cardboard Tube Lamb. Cut four holes in the bottom of the cardboard tube and glue black pipe cleaners into the holes to make the lamb's legs. Glue white cotton balls all over the cardboard tube. Wad newspaper up and fill the cardboard tube to give you something to glue on either end. Cut a square of black felt and glue it around the newspaper at one end, forming the lamb's face. Glue black pom poms to the back end for the tail. Glue wiggle eyes to the face. Add a bow below the face for decoration.
Sponge Painted Easter Eggs. A variation on regular craft ideas for Easter is to decorate eggs in a new or fun way. Soak a household sponge and then ring it out until it is just damp. Pat the sponge into paint and dab the sponge onto hard boiled eggs. You can paint in a pattern or randomly. Allow the eggs to dry in an empty egg carton before adding another color in order for the colors to not bleed. Mixing the paints can be as much fun as the actual craft. Mix white paint into primary colors to create pastel colored paint. You can also dye the eggs in the traditional fashion and then sponge paint on top of the dyed egg for a different style.
Easter Egg Heads. Boil Easter eggs as you would before dying or painting. Decorate the eggs to look like little heads. Add eyes, hair, facial expressions, and other decorations.
Other craft ideas for Easter include making Easter eggs out of chocolate or cake and decorating with icing instead of paint. An entire cake can be cut into the shape of an egg and decorated by kids and adults alike.

Sometimes trying to decide on a craft idea can be extremely frustrating. It seems as though every craft idea has already been thought about and made, and for the most part it has. But sometimes it's fun to make a really simple craft project but just put your own spin to it.
Easter is a fun time to make crafts. Easter craft ideas can be full of color and whimsy, not to mention that fun Easter Rabbit. Of course, an Easter craft idea usually consists of making an Easter Basket. Well, this is no exception. But once again, add your own spin to the idea and make it your own.
Something unique to make an Easter Basket from is a metal bucket. Small metal buckets can be found at most craft stores. Of course, you can decide on the size of the bucket. Take your metal bucket and paint it with your choice of colors. Create your own design and have fun with it. Then you will need embellishments. Various color ribbons are fun to place around the bucket or you may just want one strand of ribbon. Then continue embellishing with flowers, buttons, beads, or even a belt buckle.
As for the "grass" to place in the bucket, one suggestion is to use shredded paper. If you have paper that is straw colored then that may be even better. This would be something a bit different from the "Easter grass" at the store.
Now your Easter Basket could be used for hunting eggs or maybe as a centerpiece for your table.
As stated before, sometimes it is rather hard to come up with crafting ideas. I've been crafting for several years and absolutely love it but there are times that I get what I call "crafter's block." Yes, it's similar to "writer's block" but with crafts. Keep in mind that just because it's someone else's craft idea doesn't mean it's not your own creation. It's up to you to design it how you wish.

If you are planning an event with children, but don’t know what to do, you may want to offer face painting. Children love to have this done, and they often take their time choosing the perfect design. They love to imagine they are someone or something else, and this is a great way for them to do just that. The best part is that you don’t have to be a great artist to come up with face painting ideas. There are many out there if you know where to look.
One of the first places you can look for face painting ideas is in a book. While I’m not sure about this, I would bet there are books out there you can buy that are full of face painting ideas, and they probably come with simple instructions on how to recreate each idea. You can look in your local craft store first, and if you don’t find something there, you can probably find a face painting idea book in some place like a Barnes and Noble bookstores. You might also want to try your local library if you don’t want to pay for a book you may only use once.
You can also find great face painting ideas online. These should also come with instructions, and you may have to pay for some of the better ones. If you really want to impress the children, it wouldn’t hurt to pay for some of the more creative ideas that are out there. Just make sure they come with instructions that will make the face painting ideas to recreate or you are wasting your money. If you are having a hard time finding ideas, look through home school sites to see if they have any suggestions.
You can also come up with face painting ideas on your own. You don’t have to be an artist to come with something that children will love. All you have to do is think about the things your own children like. Chances are good that other children will be interested in the same things and will love the same types of themes. You may also want to watch some children’s shows to see what they have. They often know what children are interested in, and you can go with some of the characters they have when thinking of face painting ideas for your next event. If all else fails, you can hire someone. Most communities have companies or people who specialize in face painting [http://www.hobbies-for-everyone.com] and can be hired out for parties and events.

Easter baskets are for kids of all ages, from toddlers to senior citizens. Most children look forward to awakening on Easter Sunday to find the gift from the Easter Bunny, most often an Easter basket. However, the Easter basket can deliver lasting memories to the kid in all of us.
Youngsters generally expect to find a supply of chocolate in the form of milk chocolate Easter Bunnies or crème filled chocolate eggs. Creative parents can build a basket around a theme by placing a small stuffed animal in the midst of the candy rabbits and candy eggs. The stuffed animal will last long after the chocolate goodies have been consumed.
As children reach school age parents may wish to fulfill a child's dream by placing a kitten or a puppy the child has been wishing for in a basket. After all Easter is the first symbol of spring and what better time to present a child with the pet they desire. For years live rabbits and small colored chicks have been an Easter basket gift. However, parents should recognize that most children lose interest in chicks as they mature and rabbits may not be suitable for some children. Over the years pups and kittens have become more favorable for some families.
Teenagers often feel they have outgrown the Easter Bunny and Easter Baskets. Yet, the delight on a teenager's face when he discovers the new belt or a new wallet is unmistakable. Or, the look on the teenage girl's face when she finds a special piece of jewelry hidden inside a plastic egg is undeniable. Maybe it is time to hide a set of car keys inside a plastic egg for the young driver.
What better way to say "I love you" to a spouse or significant other than to surprise him or her with an Easter basket? Valentine's Day is often a matter of flowers or a heart shaped box of chocolates for loved ones, but with a little creativity the Easter basket can be as romantic. Think of placing an engagement ring inside an egg with a note saying "Will you marry me?" Or, perhaps a pair of tickets to his favorite NASCAR event will let him know you care. Add a little something special to an Easter basket and it will bring out the kid in your loved one.
Remember all the times the Easter Bunny brought you a special basket? This could be the year to have an Easter basket sent to your favorite Easter Bunny. Your parents will appreciate being remembered. Add a picture of your family or a snapshot of yourself with your parents when you were a child. Think of the memories your parents will recall as they think back over Easters past.
Grandparents are the most overlooked on Easter, at least as far as Easter baskets go. Do not forget them this Easter. It has been years since they received a basket filled with chocolates or their favorite wines or maybe a selection of cheeses.
Easter baskets create smiles for kids of all ages.

As if Easter isn't festive enough, there are some fun Easter Sunday school crafts for your class to do. The kids will make little favors to hang around their homes and even some to use on the Easter dinner table!
One of the most simple and adorable Easter Sunday school crafts is the cotton ball chick. These little fuzzy guys can be used for place settings. You'll need to provide the kids with the following: two yellow pompoms, half of a clean egg shell, small piece of orange craft foam, two google eyes, scissors, glue, one wood doll base, pastel colored craft paint and a paintbrush. Have the kids pick a color for their wooden doll bases and then paint them. Make sure that the egg shells are clean and then have the kids glue their pompoms inside, one on top of the other. They'll cut their orange foam into a little triangle and glue it on the top pompom for a beak. Have them glue the eyes above the beak and then have them glue the egg shell to the wooden base. Make sure that the kids are very careful with their egg shells because they're very delicate. When the project is completed, they'll have adorable little chicks to show off on their dinner tables.
When you're choosing Easter Sunday school crafts for your class to make, "Washcloth Bunnies" is a great choice. This is a craft that's suited for younger kids. You'll need to have the children bring in a washcloth. Each kid will also need a rubberband, a ribbon, wiggle eyes, a small pom-pom and glue. First, the kids will fold their washcloths in half in a way so that it forms a triangle. Then they'll roll their cloths from the small point to the long side. Once the washcloth is folded up so that it resembles a straw, they'll fold it in half. They'll fold the washcloth in half again, folding the loose strands back toward the fold (as the bunny ears). Once the ears are in that position, use your rubberband to keep the cloth in place. Then, you're going to take the ribbon and tie it around the rubberband, covering it up. The kids will glue on the google eyes and then they'll glue on the pompom for a nose. These can be used as egg holders.
If your class is seven or older, you can have them sponge paint eggs. You'll need hardboiled eggs, acrylic paints, sponges, paper towels, small bowl of water and an empty egg carton. You'll need multiple sponges and you'll need to cut them up for each paint color so that the colors don't mix together. Have them take the sponges and ring them out so that they're not drenched and then have them directly sponge paint their eggs. Have them do this with all different colors, including white so that it looks like part of the natural egg is still showing. Allow a couple of minutes for the paint to dry, acrylics dry quickly. When the eggs are done, each kid can take some home with them.
Easter Sunday school crafts are one of the reasons why kids love the holiday so much. It's a very important and joyful time and it should be celebrated!
