Bible lessons are certainly the main ingredient to a successful children's liturgy class. However, if you only stick to teaching various lessons, your students may become bored and uninterested over time. To help get your kids excited about learning about the Bible, incorporate various church crafts and brainstorm other fun Sunday school ideas that can coincide with your Bible lesson plan.
Basket of Blessings Sunday School Idea
For this church craft, you'll need the following for each student:
*Green and brown construction paper
*Brown paper lunch bag
The brown paper lunch bag will represent the basket in this activity. Before your children's liturgy class starts, cut out four fish shapes from the green construction paper and ten loaves of bread from the brown construction paper for each child. Put two paper fish and four loaves of bread into a bag for each of your students. Fold the top of the bag down so that the bag's contents can't be seen.
When class starts, hand out two fish and five loaves of bread to each child. Tell them to place their paper fish and bread into their bags with their eyes closed. Now ask for a volunteer to say a blessing over the meal. Explain to your class that this is the same meal that Jesus used to feed five thousand people in the Bible lesson you've covered. Now ask your class to take the paper meals out of their bags. They'll see that their lunch has doubled, just like in the story! This Sunday school idea is perfect to coincide with the Bible lesson from Matthew 14:15-21.
Basket of Sacrifices Church Craft
You'll need the following for this Sunday school idea:
*Scissors
*Construction paper
*Glue
*Stickers
*Crayons
*One piece of poster board
Cut the poster board into a big basket shape. Have your children's liturgy class help you cut the construction paper into strips and glue them onto the poster basket in a basket weave, criss-cross pattern. Now have your students rip pieces of green construction paper to represent grass; have them glue the grass at the top of the basket. Now let your kids go crazy decorating the poster board basket with glitter and crayons.
For the next several classes, when a student does a particularly good deed, allow him or her to cut out a construction paper egg and decorate it and then glue it to the basket. This is great to coincide with Easter Bible lessons.

Using fibre-tip pens / markers add eyes and a beak to the chick. The kids can embellish their work by adding grass, a sun, clouds etc. Do not forget their name.

If you are getting married in the spring, you are taking advantage of one of the most beautiful times of year. All of your surroundings don't have to be just naturally beautiful, and; in accordance with the spring season, there are many different centerpieces that you can use to enhance and decorate the occasion.
A wedding centerpiece adds an element of harmony to a wedding as well as providing an important focal point to the festivities. Take some time to really think about what kind of theme you want for your wedding and make sure that you have some time to really work it out. A well-designed centerpiece, whether you put it together yourself or discuss your ideas with your wedding planner who then creates it, can bring together the whole event as well as give you a wonderful souvenir. Take a look below for some great ideas to get you started
Traditional Flowers
Just because they're traditional doesn't make them boring! Add a breath of spring to your wedding by adding fresh spring flowers to the centerpiece. Consider tulips, hyacinths and crocuses, some very lovely, very traditional spring flowers remarkable for their color.
Eggs
With Easter right around the corner, you can decorate your wedding's centerpiece with lovely colored eggs. If you want something a little more sophisticated than the dye kits you get at the drug store, consider finding a specialist who can make you vibrant, traditionally dyed eggs in every hue and vibrancy you can think of.
Crystal
Spring is a time of quick, silver showers so bring this cool sparkling atmosphere to mind with the use of crystal. One way to do this is to get some quartz or aquarium pebbles that are clear or slightly tinted from the craft store and scatter them around the table. This adds a lovely sparkle to the surroundings.
Buds
Just like flowers, budding trees branches are a wonderful sign of the earth waking up again. Find a place that will give you fresh blooming pussy willows or budding dogwood for a less standard, still charming touch to your wedding.
Fruit Blossoms
Have you ever noticed how good apple and orange blossoms smell? If you live in the right area, you can strew these blossoms everywhere. They have a lovely aroma and depending on the species, can add a vibrant streak of color to your wedding.
Candles
When you put together candles for a spring wedding, you're often told to keep things pale, but there's no reason they can't be vibrant as well! When you are looking for candles, white is traditional, but take a look around for other hues that please you as well. Consider a light pink, or, if that seems a little too feminine, a lovely pale green.
Water
There are lots of ways to incorporate water into your centerpiece, but one great way is through crystal bowls with floating candles on top. You can also put floating plants inside or in the case of some adventurous wedding planners, colorful fish, though you should always look forward to those fish needing homes afterwards.

Painting faces is fun, exciting and watching the kids admire their designs is very cute. However you may see the faces painted at Walt Disney or the work of someone else who has been doing it for years and think, I could never do that! And, "if my designs aren't so elaborate nobody will want them." Well, you're wrong, you don't have to go all out to do beautiful and kid friendly face painting.
You can start with simple designs and you'll still be the life of the party. One great way to do smaller kids that won't sit still is to use stamps to get the basic design on and then take your brush and fill in the accents. Check your local craft store or Wal*Mart for stamps. Snazarro also has stamps available for those that need something to work off of.
If you're able to do small check designs free hand, paint some on cardboard stock paper and take it along and have the kids pick one of those. Having some of this around is handy also for practicing or trying out a new idea you just came up with.
Supplies
You can keep these simple as well. Snazarro sells an 8 color rainbow kit that has all the basic colors you'll need. If you want to add some jazz they have an 8 color sparkle set as well. If you're only going to do cheek designs you won't need a sponge, but you will need several different sizes of brushes. It's a good idea to have several of the same size so you can paint for a little bit, then clean your brushes.

Try your hand at a quick and colorful Easter centerpiece decoration for your table setting. Like most of us, we probably have at least two, maybe three glass vases that could easily be turned in to something really beautiful and unique without breaking the bank.
For this Easter craft project you will need the following supplies:
Glass vase; We chose to use a tall clear one, with no design on it.
Easter paper grass; We chose bright green, but any coordinating Easter color also works.
1 large Easter egg; We chose a pink ceramic egg
5 medium Easter eggs; We chose artificial eggs in pink, blue & crème in a multi colored spotted finish.
3 small Easter eggs; We chose artificial white eggs
1 decorative craft bird; We chose one in pink, blue and yellow to complement the colors of the eggs.
Double sided sticker square
Step 1 - Begin by creating egg shaped forms of the Easter paper grass in your hand. For this project we made six, but it will vary depending on the width and height of your vase. Next, take your Easter paper grass forms that you have made and drop them in to the vase one at a time. This will build height to your project; at least one quarter of the vase should now be full.
Step 2 - Begin layering your artificial eggs, medium then small. Repeat the process.
Step 3 - Place your large ceramic egg on top of the artificial eggs. At this point your vase should be half full. You are now ready to do your final step.
Step 4 - Take your double sided sticker square and apply it to the bottom of your decorative craft bird and press firmly. Next, carefully place your craft bird in to the vase, resting it side ways on to the large ceramic egg with the feathers facing down (for photos see below). When you have completed your project, at least one eighth of the glass vase should be empty at the top of your vase.
You now have a beautiful custom and unique Easter decoration for your table top that your guests are sure to ooh and ah at. Another idea would be to pair your vase with another one facing the other end of your table setting. If you choose to add a second vase, just remember to double your supplies listed above.

It seems to be a trend these days that everything old becomes new again. With that in mind let's bring back some age-old traditions this Easter.
Did you know that decorating Eggs dates back thousands of years? There are different legends about how the plain white shells miraculously changed into beautiful colors. I really like the idea of this and I for one will be enjoying some egg craft with my daughter this Easter.
It's so simple! All you have to do is hard boil some eggs and dip them in food dye. Decorate them with crayon first; the wax will resist the dye so you will end up with an array of colors shining through. For another nice effect place different shaped stickers on the eggs, dip them in the dye and when they dry peel the stickers off. It's looks great and is so much fun.
Now you're in for a real treat. I am about to give you a recipe that dates back to 1930 when my Grandad was an apprentice at a bakers; he later owned his own bakery. I remember waiting with anticipation for Grandad to walk through the door with our Easter Buns. They were and are without doubt the best Easter Buns I have ever tasted and I am really excited about continuing this tradition with my family for years to come. I hope you enjoy making them but even more than that, eating them!
Hot Cross Buns:
Combine in a large mixing bowl: 1 cup of scalded milk, 1/2 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of sugar & 1 teaspoon of salt. Cool to lukewarm.
Mix 1 teaspoon of sugar with 2 tablespoons of lukewarm water & sprinkle in a 1/2 packet of compressed yeast or 3/4 oz of dried yeast. Let it stand for 5-10 minutes until dissolved, then stir it up & add it to the first mixture. Add also 1 beaten egg, 3/4 cup of sultanas, 1 teaspoon od cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of allspice & 3 1/2-4 cups of flour.
Stir well to make a nice soft dough. Put it in a clean greased bowl, brush over with melted fat, cover with a tea towel and let rise in a warm place until double the bulk. Then turn onto a lightly floured board, knead for 1 minute and shape into little 2 inch or 2 oz balls, arranging them side-by-side on a greased oven-tray. Snip a deep cross in each bun with greased scissors.
Cover with a cloth and let rise again until double the bulk. Bake in a hot oven (220c) for approximately 25 minutes. When buns are cooked brush on glaze made of: 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of water brought to the boil. Makes approximately 16.
